De-duplication depends on the makeup and file types of a particular server. Metiix is constantly comparing the blocks across all previous generations of the file as well as globally across the entire customer environment. A substantial de-duplication can be expected both on the initial backup and on all subsequent generations and changes. Anytime a block signature within the file is matched, the duplicate blocks need not be sent to the Metiix Cloud.
